Is it me or the current review system plain sucky?

Posted by rubix41 Aug. 20, 2007 @ 8:40 AM EDT

After logging into NG, I have found all my reviews now sublined somewhere else? How on earth am I supposed to keep a running dialogue of my reviewed pieces? This, to me, is not only unfair but totally ridiculous AND, shows to me, the whispered control that NG has on the community as a whole.

From what I've heard from online gossip and other sources, NG is supposedly clamping down on reviews more and more. This was seen only in small time actions before but, with the overhaul, it has been a much better approach to purge the option away from people. It seems like when things become big, they forget about what brought about them in the first place:- the customer.

Sure, I don't buy NG or whatever, in fact, I have never given NG any money, but I consume what the site brings and the complaint may be targeted by people saying I have no right to bitch or moan about what's happening because they owe me nothing but the truth is they do!

If no-one came to this site, all those annoying pop-up's and traffic and the banners that are plastered on the screen that generate all that income that NG enjoys would be impotent. Like Yahoo currently do, if you want to drive away all your customers from your services and yet sell advertising space there, who are you exactly selling to?!

NG shouldn't think they own a brand here or anything - there are more flash game sites and, from the eBaums case, there are others who sold out to get people. If NG ever sold out, this is a good indication and, when that day comes, I will feel a little part of me will have died. Especially since this was the only site that advocated me to learn Flash in the first place. T_*

NG is dying but long live the spirt of old NG - the one that never sold out to anyone!
